Little Britain filming series 2 Tom Baker - off his rocker!
Emily and Florence A project76 field trip

Day One (Jump to: Two Three Four Five)

And so it all began again... getting the tickets was a right kerfuffle as the show was now a bit popular and lots of fans couldn't get to go to every studio session! After stopping several buggers selling their tickets on E-Bay for enough money to keep Vicky Pollard in scrunchies for life and a bit of swapsy-ing on the David Walliams forum we managed to get the chance to see 3/5 of the filming. Not bad really...

Get there early, queue up outside for ages, go in, get ticket stickered with a number, get a coffee, get the table nearest the studio doors, sit down... meet up with the other fans from that other excellent site of Tara's, look at the advance copy of the script book, have a gossip about what will happen, spot a celeb, go in.... laugh a lot!

Is Joe Cornish (from Adam And Joe fame) doing DVD extra documentaries as his job these days? We watched his 'I was a zombie extra' doc on the Shaun Of The Dead DVD this morning and now he's at Little Britain filming the queue and some of the action inside. He interviewed some random fans but not us (pah!) although we tried getting into shot on several occasions. Blast! I wanna be on telly!

Got stuck next to Patsy Kensit in the rush to the studios. I am not going to say anything bad about her, she has to appear in Emmerdale on a regular basis and was married to the monkey man from Oasis so has suffered quite enough already. She seemed in a good mood and was taking her son and his mates for an under-age (you gotta be 16!) birthday treat to see some filthy comedy show. And it was. Filthy, that is.... very much so!

Suffice to say we have surpassed the toe-sucking of Jason and Gary's Nan, hide your elderly relatives before watching this programme! There's a wonderful new character played by David, leading to some disgusting humour. My new catchphrase is "Bitty ... hungry ... bitty" which will mean something to you soon. There's also some vile old ladies called Margaret and Judy who go to fetes and do something... which I shall keep as a surprise. Another new character is a fat woman who runs around a health farm in the nude (Matt wearing a naked fat suit) which is a bit like his Shirley Bassey Rock Profile character but she hasn't got the range. And isn't as funny.Anthony Head, our esteemed Prime Minister The studio sketches were some Sebastian and Prime Minister ones which were extremely camp and a new one with the Pirate Memory Game man going to a dating agency and being as specific about what he requires as before. Jamie's radio favorite, Viv, is there too.

Guest stars tend to worry me as this is usually a sign of laziness but this didn't seem to happen here: Vanessa Feltz got something she deserved, Nigel Havers got felt up and Anthony Head got worshipped by Sebastian, Geraldine James did something very funny and David embarrassed Jamie Theakston. And of course, Ted Robbins played a rubbish 1970s comedian doing warm-up again. Just like the old days! Literally. Roll on day three, cos we've not got tickets for day two...

Day Two (Jump to: One Three Four Five)

Grumble, brumble, bah humbug! We didn't go to the filming day number two as we didn't get any tickets for it and disapprove of using EBay for things like that. So instead, I have stolen information from wherever I can get it to do a report.

No famous people were spotted although someone may have seen Abi Titmuss (titter ye not) but as no one is sure what she looks like with all her clothes on this may not actually be true. I can tell you that Ted Robbins did his warm-up man routine again and we all Ted Robbins - with scary glasses know how that went as he hasn't changed it since 1974, bless him. It's actually quite scary going to the filming and seeing new people get the Ted Robbins Experience for the first time. They actually laugh!

The main live sketches were the same kind as the day before: Sebastian and the pirate memory game man. I imagine there was a lot of campness on that stage, especially with Simon Callow guest-starring. Anthony Head would have been charming and professional and the ladies in the audience would be all funny when they saw him. Ted Robbins got to be in a sketch, as this is how he is paid for his routine. The man just loves to be on telly. From what I have discovered, it wasn't as exciting as day one so there's some consolation in my bitter twisted mind!

Day Three (Jump to: One Two Four Five)

Ted Robbins repeats his lame warm-up act once again and manages to piss off several members of the davidwalliamsfans.com forum. Everyone should bring a book to read especially for him…
Matt's mum turns up with a group old ladies and gets fussed over again... awww!
A new character gives me a new catchphrase <deadpan> 'computer says no'...
David Arnold who wrote the feem toon was there...
Vomit is still not funny...but women showing pictures of men's' cocks are!
Ted continues his 'get the audience to do impressions to hide the fact that I am so not funny' routine. Again.
Matt and David are bloody fantastic as usual and Ruth Madoc is Daffyd's mother to perfection. But I thought there were 2 Ds in LB's Llandewi-Brefi (like the real town)! How anal of me!

Day Four (Jump to: One Two Three Five)

Kenny Craig und der Verkehr Wärter Day 4's highlights included a very famous musician star, who has been played by both David and Matt in Rock Profile. Sadly, Andy didn't want him once he got him. Ah well, the fickle nature of fame!
Audience-spotting highlights were Rob Brydon, Edgar Wright (director of Rock Profile/Spaced/Shaun Of The Dead) and the lovely Mark Morriss from the Bluetones.
In an "it's a small world" moment where everyone's been in shows with everyone else, James Corden played Daffyd's brother. He was in Cruise of the Gods with David and Rob Brydon and in Boyz Unlimited which was co-created by Matt and David. Rob Brydon popped onstage for a quick Tom Jones song between sketches, which was nice and unexpected. There were several Llandewi-Brefi sketches again which always makes for a good night out, and lots more quite gross moments on VT to get the Daily Mail readers all hot under the collar. Hurrah!

Day Five (Jump to: One Two Three Four)

Little Britain Series 2 guest stars - Nigel 'luvvie' Havers, Simon 'luvvier' Callow, Jamie 'whiplash' Theakston, Ruth 'Hi-De-Hi!' Madoc, Vanessa 'had a hard life (being a fat pig)' Feltz, and Geraldine 'Posh bird who was in Shoestring once' James We weren't there for day five: The final day! Onstage they did the new character Roland who sounds quite Bo'Selecta-y if you know what I mean (puerile) and some Ted Robbins got involved in this sketch as payment for doing the same warm-up act every night, bless him! They also did some new 'Pirate Memory Game' man sketches. The character is officially called Mr Mann, how bizarre.
There was a big party afterwards in a top secret room at the BBC where they had cake and jelly and ice cream and played pass the parcel. Then they played musical chairs for hours... or maybe they didn't. Like I said, we weren't there so I don't know nothing about none of it, OK?
