Sebastian eyes Simon Callow's Poop Deck

The Comic Relief sketches are available on a DVD before their transmission on telly and as it's for charity I can forgive the mainstream-ness of the humour in places! Some of the sketches have already been seen by me, namely the George Michaels one which we loved when we saw it being filmed during series 2 and of course it's great and funny and it works really well. The outtakes of this were mostly from Matt laughing and are included on the disc, giving everyone to experience what usually happens at least once during every sketch's filming. The Hubba Bubba restaurant sketch was also made for series 2 and is one of the many unused bits of that idea, as they tend to repeat the idea to death then use the best few for transmission. I assume the Judy and Maggie sketch was made with all the others too as there is nothing 'Comic Relief' about it really although I don't remember it from the filming. I am getting old, I forget things! The Dennis Waterman one is old also, as we know it was filmed with all the others and shown on the BBC documentary about making series two. Great use of perspective with the baby! Simon Callow's great Sebastian sketch was done at tone of the series two nights too.

Highlights of the new bits are Vicky Pollard on Trisha and Robbie Williams as a lady, although I am sure he didn't need much persuading. Trisha is the natural environment for Vicky and they used the format well for maximum laughs, including a real Trisha audience, some of whom probably thought it was a regular show. Robbie seemed to enjoy his sketch a bit too much but 10 out of 10 for effort, unlike the Daffyd and Elton piece which I found cringeworthy throughout. I may just be a grumpy old man, though. All in all it's great value for money and has some good laughs and a nice interview from Jamie Squeakston. Buy it!
