Vicky Picks 'n Mixes

And so it started all over again. Loadsa publicity and things on the telly. Loadsa catchphrases and shit. Little Britain was back on BBC3 to save comedy from the horrors of French And Saunders and Green Wing! I can now officially begin quoting things we saw at the filming and soon the following phrases will spread into the public sphere: "bitty," "computer says no," and "lesbian jam." Will they prove as popular with unemployed people and layabout students as "yeah but no," or " I want that one?" Who knows? Ask Jeeves! It was still funny and still disgusting so that's what matters the most.

Vicky Pollard stealing pick and mix is hilarious. It just is. But stealing a till is better as is her insistence of not ever not even doing nuffink. I have met a real Vicky-style shoplifter many times recently and this scene reminded me of the time I caught her with a pile of DVDs in her arms, standing by a pile of ripped-off security tags saying "What? I ain't done nuffink!" The thieving bitch was rather deluded as to her innocence, perhaps she had watched too much Little Britain, if such a limit can be reached.

I want my computer to not say no so much as it has recently. I haven't tried talking to it like Sandra in said sketch but will give it a go. So far this is my favourite new character and on paper appears to not be remotely humorous. But she is, especially in later episodes when her stare, cough and spit routine is enhanced to include slurping on a drink. Mad but good!

Vomiting, spitting and breastfeeding, plus 'gaying-up' Nigel Havers. All puerile but sometimes we don't want highly-evolved witty humour, do we? Needless to say, more of all these things next week, hurrah!
