Viv at the jewellers

There's been a right kerfuffle about editing! When it's shown on BBC1 a lot of rude words and actions will have to be changed to not offend the teribly uptight mainstream audience. How do we get around the vomiting, breastfeeding, snot and extremely gay words exactly? There are complaints of them 'selling out' by censoring themselves but let's wait and see what happens. If Maggie only coughs when tasting lesbian jam it just won't be the same, will it? Anyway...

We have Viv! In the flesh! From the radio show, at last. Gaawgeous etc etc. Great stuff for the uber-fans like us, you noticed who was an old fan at the filmings when she appeared on the screen and people knew the words. Sad? Yeah but no but so what? In fact episode 3 is very 'radio showy,' with the Mr Gupta lottery winner sketches adapted for Meera and Marjorie, and the PCs at the wrong house sketch from the olden days too. Ah, nostalgia!

Bits we saw live in the studio were another Sebastian sketch and the Daffyd one. Jamie Squeakston kept cocking up his lines and David making him laugh didn't help matters but it was great to watch over and over again. The Sebastian character is quite frightening, especially as he stays in character between reshoots. Rather camp as usual, just like Daffyd and the various gays in the pub. David's flamboyant Spanish gay was also quite scary, but similar to the Rock Profile Ricky Martin in many ways. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, giving us a high camp factor and low gross-out factor for episode 3, which is nice. Just like the olden days. Goodbye!
