Some scary moments this week, beginning with David Walliams as Jackie. Another Vicky Pollard is seriously weird, giving us two borstal girls talking nonsense in West Country accents at the same time! I wonder how many takes it took to get that sketch right? In the several Lou and Andy sketches we learn that Andy believes that snakes have an aura of evil but still wants one... temporarily. The joke is wearing a bit thin now but it's still funnier than all the other 'comedy' shows currently on the telly.

Marjorie Dawes' collagen lips scared me. She made Jordan/Leslie Ash/any other stupid woman who has had this done look quite normal. Which is worrying. Almost as strange as seeing the old press conference sketch from the pilot episode again. Such a star-studded event that was. How many comedy minor celebrities can you spot? Just for the record Boyd Hilton works for Heat and not Smash Hits. He was across from me in the audience when they filmed this; many aeons ago now and I once saw him in a woolly hat near Starbucks in Oxford Street. I am such a celeb-spotter. Sadly, Dinosaur Magazine is not a real magazine with a free binder when you buy the first issue.

Council estates are where the old, thick and bone idle are forced to live. So said Tom Baker in his narration and never a truer word has been spoken! Other Doctor Who related nonsense this week includes Matthew Waterhouse visiting Sir Michael Craze with his ideas for musicals. Naming your characters after actors who played that rare breed called male Doctor Who companions is neither big nor clever. Mark Strickson turns up soon to complete the set. God I know too much bad trivia.

The Des Kaye sketch was scarily like Lucas and Walliams' Rock Profile of Bucks Fizz: just replace the Bubble Twins with Jay Aston and you have another creepy deranged character living in the past. Not that it makes it any less funny of course. Other funny things are the little visual gags like Sir Bernard's theatre posters. I have sadly never seen An Inspector Pops Round or Sex Please, We're Not British as they are not real. Neither is the Welsh gay magazine Boyo that David's character in the Daffyd sketch is reading. Or is it? Must find out...
