Anne is working in the library, treating the books in a unique way. The funniest bit of the episode is how she reverts back to a 'normal' person when on the phone except for a calm "eh eh eeh" as a goodbye. Appropriately mad and very very well performed. Unlike the Kelsey Grammar School sketches which are dragging on and on... in a similar vein to Lou and Andy who are also becoming a bit too 'Fast Show' in their one joke repetition.
The old pilot bit this week is Vicky Pollard's court appearance. Hiding an eyeliner pencil and a can of Red Bull (other vile energy drinks are available) is no great criminal feat; I have heard tales of frozen turkeys being hidden up skirts in supermarkets! The poor court stenographer can barely keep up with Vicky's defence. Other oddities this week included the Olivier Lawrence child actor sketches from the radio show being reborn as Ralph (pronounced Rafe) Patterson. A bit dark for me, even though the kid who played Ralph was made to take a bow from his seat in the audience when it was screened at the filming. The highlight of that very filming has to have been the cakes from the Ray McCooney sketch. They may have no nuts but were delicious, oh the joys of being in the front row and scrounging for cake props. I think I had the carrot cake or maybe the lemon drizzle... mmmmm. We all love a bit of cake!
