Judy and Maggie from TV's award-winning documentary series 'Little Britain' were so pleased when The Daily Mail invited them to take part in its 'Ideal Home Counties Show.' They took great pride in sampling the delicious preserves, cakes and chutneys brought to the event by its readers from all parts of the country. As was to be expected, they awarded special prizes to some of the contestants, notably the delicious jam from Ms S Bush (strange how she never married) and the lovely scones and marmalade of Mrs Patel from Hertfordshire. Unfortunately there was a slight mishap and most of the scones ended up on the ground after Maggie felt ill, and a similar thing happened with the jam. Luckily, Judy was there to help her friend and the cub scouts were fine after a vigorous scrubbing by Akela. As soon as they were cleaned up they joined the Brownie pack for a game of pin the tail on the asylum seeker, which proved very popular with the local Young Conservatives who had set up a stall. Special guest of honour at the event was the fragrant Baroness Thatcher, who was accompanied by her handbag. She spent the afternoon chatting to the ladies and introduced them to the ghost of Lynda Lee-Potter, who had arrived to judge the Woman Of The Year Award. It was won by Mrs Alice Band of Brentwood for her astounding collection of racist jams. Well done Mrs Band, from all of us here at Project 76.
